Kickoff Announces Acquisition by Paktor Group

New York, NY – Kickoff, the leading Latin American dating app which connects friends of friends, today announced that it has been acquired by Paktor, the leading mobile dating and social networking brand for singles in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The sale creates a combined business with global scale in two of the world’s largest dating markets. The Kickoff app will continue to be developed by Paktor. Kickoff users will not experience any interruption in service. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kickoff Receives $1.6 Million Investment

New York, NY – Kickoff, Latin America’s leading dating app, which connects friends of friends looking for a meaningful relationship, has received a $1.6 million investment from Monashees Capital, Brazil’s leading venture capital fund, and angel investors. Kickoff emphasizes quality connections over quantity by making introductions to people in each user’s social network. Kickoff is available on iOS and Android.

Kickoff was launched in São Paulo in December 2014 and has grown via word of mouth across Brazil and Argentina. “Our international team has built Kickoff into the leading dating app in Latin America, where Kickoff’s focus on making introductions to people in your social network is a great fit and differentiator. Kickoff Teams up with Uber in São Paulo

São Paulo – Voltado para quem busca um relacionamento estável, o app Kickoff firmou uma parceria com o Uber. Ela permite que usuários do aplicativo de paquera usem carros do Uber de graça para ir para o primeiro encontro.

Para isso, os interessados devem baixar e instalar o Kickoff. Basicamente, o app exibe sugestões de amigos de amigos do usuário com quem ele pode flertar. Caso o usuário aprove alguém e seja aprovado por essa mesma pessoa, acontece o “match” (combinação, em inglês). A lógica é a mesma do Tinder.

Após o “match”, o Kickoff permite que os dois usuários comecem a conversar. Agora, caso eles combinem um encontro por meio do app, o Kickoff vai enviar um código para cada um deles ter acesso gratuito a um carro do Uber para levá-los ao local combinado

A parceria entre Kickoff e Uber só vale até o fim de março e para usuários da cidade de São Paulo. Além disso, o valor máximo de corrida coberto pela parceria é de 50 reais.

Como se sabe, o Uber é um app que oferece motoristas particulares em carros chiques mediante pagamento. No Brasil desde maio do ano passado, o aplicativo opera em Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo.

Já o Kickoff foi lançado no país em janeiro e conta com cerca de 10 mil usuários. Disponível para iOS e Android, o app já bateu a marca de 1 milhão de mensagens trocadas entre seus usuários.
